PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES:
GELFIX is produced from non-allergic, lyophilized, sterile type 1 equine collagen obtained from connective tendon structures of healthy cows/oxen. GELFIX is presented in the form of a pad made of light and spongy material, which easily adapts to the areas where it is used. It has specific uses in various conditions such as venous ulcers, decubitus wounds, tooth extraction, etc., including the treatment of various etiological cutaneous lesions such as accidental or surgical wounds. In similar situations, GELFIX aids in the proliferation and development of healing tissues and granulation tissues. The result of the mechanism of action of GELFIX: invasion of its structure by macrophages and leukocytes of tissue and blood; Digestion by the peptidases of the aforementioned cells requires plastic regeneration of injured tissues. Finally, since the product is not absorbed, in other words, its activity acts locally without mixing with the systemic structure of the body, it makes it a part of the cellular fibroblast mechanism by promoting the production of endogenous collagen, which is responsible for scarring. Thanks to the unique porous structure of GELFIX, it allows the damaged tissue in the application area to sweat, and by allowing the exudate to be reabsorbed, it maintains the cleaning of the lesioned area. GELFIX allows for biological control of pH of the tissue.

Pharmacokinetic Properties:
GELFIX is used in the treatment of cutaneous lesions of different etiology, as seen in many clinical trials. As a hemostatic agent, it finds specific uses in vascular reconstructive surgery, vascular surgery, carotid surgery and odontology. GELFIX accelerates coagulation, and its co-administration with anti-coagulation treatments does not hinder its effectiveness. GELFIX has high tissue-compatibility, and its removal after cessation of bleeding does not cause recurrent bleeding. It uses its hemostatic effect through its effect on platelet aggression.

Indications:
GELFIX increases cicatrization of decubitus wounds, venous ulcers and active wounds.
